2010 - Oaks & Acorns hires new Executive DIrector, and Director of Educational Programs
                 -Celebrates 17-year anniversary as NP in San Diego

2009 - World Cafe - Entitled Relationships Taking Root In Education with Sandi-Pan facilitators

2008 - Created an intergenerational component at Innovations Academy
                 -The Outrageous Sages and other elders helping plant a garden at Joan Kroc Center

2007 - World Café on “What’s Possible Through Volunteering; Salvation Army Kroc Center
                  -A second “Connections Café” with SDSU interns – topic: Community Volunteering  

2006 - Dreyer’s Ice Cream and Oaks & Acorns participate in tree planting events at the Kearny Mesa Convalescent Center and the DeAnza Child Development Center.

2006 - Sponsored 20 Child Development and Family Relationship student-interns from SDSU
                 - Partnership with De Anza Child Development Center & Kearny Mesa Convalescent    
                   planting trees together and Dryers Ice Cream as our Sponsors

2005 -  Munchies & Manners – our etiquette and social skills program began
                 - Intergenerational High Tea at Lemon Grove Library

2004 - Moved into new offices in Lemon Grove
                  - Collaborations with Lemon Grove Kiwanis club, Legacy Corps  senior citizens
                  - Partnership with iMiRoR. – Social Venture Partnership

2004 - Collaboration with Jewish Family Services in the creation of an intergenerational storytelling documentary titled “Beyond the Wrinkles.”

2001 - The Great Oak Dialouges (now Coaches & Careers) program is created as a way for seniors to enrich children's lives by sharing their life experiences

2000 - April 10, 2000 is announced as Oaks & Acorns day by the city council

2000 - Oaks & Acorns takes part in The Gold Diggers (Gifts of Loving Donors) annual "Hats Off to San Diego" luncheon and wins the Forty-niner award

2000 - Alannah Sinclaire participated in the Aging Summit and helped develop guidelines for intergenerational programming in the county

1998 - Volunteer of the year award is presented to Oaks & Acorns by the United Way

1998 - Oaks & Acorns is acknowledged during the opening ceremonies of a Padre game

1997 - Bridges, now the Oaks Mentoring Acorns, began programs at local schools

1997 - The first annual recognition breakfast for Oaks & Acorns volunteers is held

1997 - Oaks & Acorns receives United Way certification

1996 - The Outrages Sages, a troupe of senior actors, musicians, and storytellers, is formed

1996 - The Channel 10 Leadership Award is granted to Oaks & Acorns

1996 - The Geriatric Games are supported by the Junior Oak Helpers

1994 - Junior Oak Helpers begin their yearly volunteering at the Senior Olympics

1994 - Oaks & Acorns receives their first national media coverage

1994 - The first year Junior Oak Helpers aid seniors at the Alzheimer's Memory Walk

1994 - Junior Oak Helpers is created as a way for school children and scout troops to provide support and encouragement at senior events.

1993 - Oaks & Acorns is founded. The first program was Acorns to Oaks (now Serve & Share), bringing children into senior centers

1975 - Alannah Sinclaire invites an elderly woman to into her pre-school classroom and is amazed by the connection between the children and the senior. The concept of Oaks & Acorns is born!
